Hubble continues to operate and provide valuable data, but it is expected to be succeeded by the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST). Scheduled for launch in the near future, JWST will observe in the infrared spectrum and is designed to complement and extend Hubble's discoveries. However, Hubble is still expected to operate for several more years, continuing to make significant contributions to astrophysics.
