What are the Units of Luminosity?
In the International System of Units (SI), luminosity is measured in
watts
(W). However, in astronomy, it is common to express luminosity in terms of the
solar luminosity
(L☉), where 1 L☉ is approximately 3.828 x 1026 watts.
